MEET DIRECTOR:

REGISTRATION: https://register.usapowerlifting.com/

MEET STANDARDS:

Only USA Powerlifting State members competing within their designated region will be eligible for awards and Pro Cards. Guest lifters (i.e., lifters from a state outside of their designated region) are allowed to compete at ANY regional competition, and they may set state and American records and may earn a qualifying total for a national meet.  Guest lifters are subject to all normal rules of competition and must meet the same qualifying criteria to enter the meet.

  • The QTs for Regionals are listed below.

  • The QT must have been achieved at a USA Powerlifting sanctioned 3-lift meet since January 1 of the previous year. This includes any Regionals or Nationals from 2025.

  • Since State meets and Regionals meets are the only meets to qualify for Raw Nationals, the QT achieved in the entered division at a Regional meet will qualify the athlete for that division’s 2027 National meet. American Records can be set at Regionals.

  • Only full meet, 3-lift competition is allowed, including adaptive athletes and the MX division.

  • Pro Cards will be awarded to the best lifter in each of the following divisions if they meet the minimum dots (or age-adjusted dots) requirements listed on the Pro Series Website:

    • Open Female Raw

    • Open Female Equipped

    • Open Male Raw

    • Open Male Equipped

    • Masters Female Raw

    • Masters Female Equipped

    • Masters Male Raw

    • Masters Male Equipped

  • Because Regionals is a direct qualifier for Nationals, the rules/policies for Regional meets are identical in all ways to those of national meets.

  • All lifting equipment/apparel is allowed as long as it meets USA Powerlifting technical standards.

  • Access to the warmup area and the coaching area at all USA Powerlifting sanctioned Regional and National events is restricted to USA Powerlifting members in good standing. This applies to athletes, officials, referees, and coaches.

  • The entry deadline is 4 weeks out from the start of each Regional.

  • There will be a jury - direct questions to the jury, not the platform referees

  • No video evidence accepted for overturns

  • All lifters must know USAPL rules & Code of Conduct

  • Zero tolerance for misconduct toward staff, referees, lifters, or coaches

  • Weigh-ins by LOT# order (not first-come)

WEIGH IN

Each lifter will be randomly assigned a lot number. Lot numbers will determine the order of weigh-in. During weigh-ins, we will verify your photo ID and retrieve your first attempts in kilos (please use the attached kilo chart) before you mount the scale. Before leaving the weigh-in area, the lifter and/or their coach (if a coach is present) must confirm that all information on the scorecard is correct. The completed scorecard must be signed by either the lifter or the lifter’s coach (or a parent/guardian in the case of a youth lifter). This signature is attestation that all of the information on the scorecard is correct. Lifters have the option to weigh in in the nude, wearing only their undergarments/underwear, or wearing a singlet and/or T-shirt. Lifters may not weigh in wearing more than their undergarments/underwear, singlet, T-shirt, and socks. Youth lifters must be weighed in wearing a singlet and T-shirt. Each lifter may only be weighed once. Only those whose body weight is heavier or lighter than the class limits of the weight class entered are allowed to return to the scales. Lifters requiring one or more re-weigh attempts must return to the scales and make weight within the limits of the 90 minutes allowed for the weigh-in.

If a lifter knows they need to change weight classes prior to the day of the event, it is courteous to let the meet director know as early as possible so appropriate changes to the lifting schedule and flight configurations can be made. This will affect the medal count if you place. You may forfeit your medal if you do not make weight.  Lifters who were absent for any reason when called to the scale will weigh in after all the lifters in the session who were present when their lot number was called had an opportunity to weigh-in. It is ultimately the lifter’s responsibility to know where they are located in the order and to be in close enough proximity to the weigh-in room to hear when their name is called.
